Actress Gina Rodriguez Joins The Be Good to Each Other Campaign To Talk About Bullying Prevention

Did you know October is National Bullying Prevention Month?

To celebrate CustomInk launched its annual Be Good to Each Other bullying prevention campaign, by partnering with Gina Rodriguez, the star of “Jane the Virgin” and 11 other top celebrities and athletes.

The Be Good to Each Other campaign aims to unite students and adults in an effort to take a stand against bullying and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion within their communities.

This year, CustomInk partnered with 12 celebrities and athletes who designed t-shirts that will be sold for $20 each – 100% of the profits from the sales of bullying prevention t-shirts will benefit PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in its effort to engage, educate, and unite communities nationwide.

Notable celebrities and athletes include: Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Rachel Platten (Singer), Gracie Gold (Olympic Figure Skater), Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory), Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (World Heavyweight Champion), Wesam Keesh (MTV’s Awkward), Quincy Davis (Professional Surfer), Alyson Stoner (Cheaper by the Dozen), Miles Heizer (Parenthood), Addison Riecke (The Thundermans), Aija Mayrock (The Survival Guide to Bullying), and Paola Andino (Every Witch Way)

EverSoPopular got an exclusive interview with the multi-talented Gina Rodriguez.

ESP: What advice would you give your younger self now about bullying?

GR: I would tell my younger self to be more confident and embrace the qualities that make me different and special. There’s always going to be people telling you you’re not good enough or criticizing the way you look or act but you have to stay true to who you are and have confidence in yourself.

ESP: Is there bullying in Hollywood? If so, how has it affected you or friends in the entertainment industry?

GR: I’ve definitely felt the pressures of the beauty standards in Hollywood, but I try to keep everything in perspective and embrace my natural beauty as much as possible. I’ve turned down and have been denied roles because I don’t fit that certain stereotype. For me, it’s important to choose roles that are inspiring and reflect Latinos in a realistic and positive light.

ESP: Can you share how you became part of the Be Good to Each Other campaign?

GR: I’ve always been a huge supporter of bullying prevention and have been looking for ways to get involved so when CustomInk reached out to me, it was the perfect opportunity. I love what the Be Good to Each Other campaign stands for and that it inspires young adults to take action and unite against bullying.

  • I’m honored to be chosen as one of the twelve celebrities to spread the message of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. To raise awareness for the cause, I’ve created my own custom t-shirt that is being sold to benefit PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center.
