London Fashion Week's Beauty Report F/W 2018

What happens in London, doesn’t stay in London! This year’s London Fashion week produced some interesting looks that are totally customizable to every taste, body type and skin color. Fall/Winter season is definitely our favorite time of the year (apart from all the rain in the UK) in terms of fashion and beauty looks. Here’s some of the inspo we gathered from the runways.

Bulky clothes, face on fleek
This year Fall/Winter season will bring a lot of layers, huge overcoats, bright colors, and men’s jackets designed for women’s fashion; in three words, plaid, sequence and swagger!
Some of the looks are seriously textured and offer a lot of possibilities to recycle grandma’s old vintage coat and pair it with…a new Marc Jacobs oversized coat. This means that a lot of the body is covered, but the bare face and skin still peek through all of that fabric. The statement base for 2018 is a glowy complexion, dewy skin and light contour. To achieve this look, first make sure to prep the skin with a moisturizer and a tinted primer. If going for foundation, choose a medium coverage foundation and then apply concealer just in the right spots to look natural, e.g. only under the eyes and on blemishes. Finish off with a bit of liquid highlighter under the brow, along the bridge of the nose and on the cheekbones.
Colorless autumn? Not this time!

We observed this trend not only in the clothes but also in the make up at London fashion week Fall/Winter 2018. In some instances, a red eyeshadow is matched with neutral overcoat and trouser suit. In others, cat eyeliner is drawn around the eyes, top and bottom, with geometric precision as to complement some of the other fashion trends- stripes, lines and tartan fabrics. Apply pastel green, pink or yellow eyeliner to emphasize the candy cotton make up look that’s trending this fall.
Party animals
Even though it’s not Ibiza weather, we still wanna have fun, right? The party style for this season is the ultimate 80’s throwback. Bright colored rain coat, complemented by the illusion of wet hair and a bold lid. Use glitter eyeshadow or lid topper to achieve the perfect futuristic midground between fashion and make up. And if it rains, that could only enhance the look! The wet hair is popular this season and it is created with the help of wax and gel. You can also paint a bold burgundy or punchy red lip; with a shiny lip topper, to finish off the look.
Bold lips and Natural Hairstyles
Somewhere between the coats, scarfs, leather pants and plaids, we find the hat! Pair it with glasses - colorful ones, of course. But what happens after we take off the hat? The hair is not perfect and that is okay. Designers and celebrity stylists this fall have decided that it’s time to free the hair. Natural up-does, messy buns, uneven beach waves, semi-straight locks are what we should wear this fall/winter season. Use stylizing products that enable the carefree appearance of the hair; such as nourishing oils, color touch up products and shine serums.

Nor everyone can look as good as Doutzen Kroes or Cara Delevingne on the London Fashion Week runway, but this Fall/Winter season we attempt to adapt those trends to our everyday chic look.
