The runway transformed into a glittering paradise when CND, the pioneers of nail artistry at Fashion Week, reunited with designer partners, The Blonds, for a scintillating Spring/Summer 2018 show. Showcasing shimmering snakeskin, holographic gems, and neon animal prints, the New York City Fashion icons stepped out of the concrete jungle and into a glimmering jungle of their own over-the-top allure.
CND elevated the already sumptuous looks with exquisite nails that featured longer lengths and stronger shapes with liquid, high gloss shine. Brimming with seductive details like sparkling scorpion tails, birds of paradise, jeweled leopard spots, hibiscus flowers, and elements encased in glass, the elongated styles made a perfect canvas for the larger-than-life designs. Even lace got a lavish, tropical makeover, with the hand-molded florals and pearl and gem accents blooming in 3-D right off the nails.
Of course, for the Blonds paradise has no curfew—and this season’s nail looks smoldered with after dark decadence: Glow-in-the-dark accents, nails that bubbled like broken glow sticks, and ripped denim dusted in glitter created an after hours oasis.
“Only David and Philippe Blond can take glamour to such dazzling heights,” said Jan Arnold, Co-founder and Style Director of CND. “Their collections are so captivating, so rich in exquisite detail, that they go beyond fashion to create an enchanting universe all their own. Like the Blonds, CND has a passion for creating looks that transcend style to tell a story. We truly cherish David and Phillipe as creative collaborators, and working with them season after season is our idea of paradise.”
Arnold guided the CND Design Lab team alongside creative lead Shelena Robinson to create the show’s stunningly seductive nail styles. “The Blonds always inspire us to set a new standard of uninhibited glamour: This season took us to a jewel-drenched jungle bursting with bold color, and with styles showcasing exotic animal prints and opulent, oversized gemstones, the nails were every bit as fabulous as they were fierce.”
