Designer Ainy, of the London based ready to wear brand “ANZ” presented her latest collection, named Peaceful Protests recently in New York City. Inspired by the diversity of Britain’s subcultures and the vibrant music scenes of yesteryear, the bold offering comes in colour ways including a retro sky palette of pale blue and turquoise against sorbet yellow, marl grey, and black and white, using 100% mercerized cotton.
ANZ builds on its successful knitwear roots with a collection of oversized unisex cardigans, jumpers and signature slouch hats alongside a high fitted skirt. To coincide with the mainline, ANZ has created a capsule of limited edition knits in collaboration with the artist Swizz Beatz. Created under the moniker The Dean Collection, the signature oversized cardigan comes with an intro to neutral shades.
The brand has been worn by leading music and acting talents, including Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Taraji P. Henson, Quincy Brown, Mark Birnbaum, NAS, Lewis Hamilton, Cam Newton amongst others. “I love the energy New York gives me when designing so it just made sense for me to present here. The combination of New York and London present in my life keeps me constantly inspired” says Ainy Illustrations by Simona Ruscheva give ANZ another vibrant element to the collection and have created a social media buzz.
The new range will be available online and in select locations by July 2016. Stores such as Wardrobe Department LA in Los Angeles already carry select pieces from the Dean Collection by Swizz Beatz.
The event at the “A Supreme Agent’ showroom also presented new collections from Capture Showroom, MANDUKA Yoga, Folk Rebellion. Havaianas, and Parker Smith. Guests were treated to temporary tattoos by the popular brand Tattly,.
About ANZ: Having been prolific in the fashion industry for over a decade as a designer, stylist and consultant for a variety of artists, high street and luxury brands, Central Saint Martins trained Ainy founded ANZ in 2014. Having created unique pieces for artists that she admired, word of mouth quickly resulted demand for the kaffiyah print pieces that launched the label.
