What is the craziest things you've done to go to a concert of event? Have you waited for tickets in line outside the box office overnight? Driven miles away from home to see your favorite artist or group?
Well I kind of did just that earlier this week when JetBlue invited me to Puerto Rico for a VIP event: JetBlue LIVE featuring Singer/Songwriter Pedro Capό.
Did you know? JetBlue is the largest carrier in Puerto Rico offering up to 52 daily flights to the island.
I was one of the lucky few invited to the first JetBlue LIVE concert experience to San Juan in partnership with MasterCard and Banco Santander. This concert, sponsored by the Santander JetBlue MasterCard, will took place at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, one of JetBlue’s six focus cities. Yes, right at the terminal!
This concert was available exclusively to lucky travelers, select Santander JetBlue MasterCard card members and contest winners selected by Pedro Capό and media.
Here's how it all went down on December 3rd:
4:00 am: Up early in the morning & headed to JFK for my JetBlue flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
6:00 am: Arrive at JFK! I was happy I was on one of the new JetBlue planes and upgraded to Even More (but as a 6' tall woman I NEED the extra legroom) and had priority through security and with boarding.
9:00 am: Enroute to PR I start listening the my Pedro Capo playlist. So technically I am working on the plane.
11:50 am: A few short hours later I arrived and connected with some of my favorite influencers!
1 pm: Took a walk around the terminal and watched the band start to set up.
3:00 pm: Interview with Pedro Capó before his concert. If you are not familiar with his music you need to check it out!
A modern-day renaissance man, Pedro Capό has starred in major motion pictures, performed in hit theatrical productions, wrote widely-acclaimed songs for award-winning international superstars including Ricky Martin and Ednita Nazario and boasts seven #1 radio singles in Puerto Rico.
4:00 pm: CONCERT! This concert serves as a homecoming for Pedro. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he lives a life of free-thinking and inspiration.
Fun fact: He’s the grandson of famous Puerto Rican singer Bobby Capό and son of the well-remembered singer and founder of the Salsa nueva trova, also named Bobby Capό. Pedro is the third in a family of tradition that left its stamp on Latin music and Puerto Rican culture.
Check out the full performance below. My friend George Torres of UrbanJibaro was front and center the whole time!
6:00 pm: After the concert I was off to La Concha Resort which is a JetBlue partner hotel and less than 10 minutes away from the airport. It offers beautiful views of San Juan and the beach!
9:00 pm: Dinner at Delicias Restaurant at La Concha Resort
11:30 pm: Bedtime for me! After an epic day I want to make sure I hit the beach and feel the tropical air on my skin before I head home!
7:00 am: Good Morning Puerto Rico! I enjoyed the view from La Concha Resort and feel the warm sun and gentle breeze on my skin.
10:00 am: Off to catch my flight! Wait one last picture!
Thank you JetBlue for a one of a kind concert experience that I will never forget!
