For many people, the teens and young adults on their lists are the hardest to find gifts for. Why not give these young drivers a gift that is both useful and unusual – pick up a headlamp, fender or bumper, wrap it up and put it under the tree! Many young drivers would appreciate the help in fixing up their car, and by purchasing generic non-branded auto parts you could be saving 26 – 50 % percent on your gift.
The Quality Parts Coalition (QPC) wants consumers to know that for more than 60 years the alternative parts industry has been making generic auto body parts – and these parts are available at more than 40,000 collision repair shops across the country.
QPC is also a supporter of the PARTS Act (Promoting Automotive Repair, Trade and Sales), the bipartisan legislation that was introduced in Congress earlier this year which preserves fairness and competition in the collision repair marketplace by ensuring that quality, non-branded parts commonly damaged in a collision— including fenders, headlights, hoods and tail lights – are available to consumers.
“The quality of these generic parts is assured by manufacturers and distributors who provide warranties on their parts,” said Bob Passmore, a spokesperson for QPC. “QPC members often have warranties that exceed those offered by the car companies. And, many quality alternative parts are certified by an independent third party.”

ABOUT THE PARTS Act
The PARTS Act (S. 560 and H.R. 1057) is bipartisan legislation that preserves fairness and competition in the collision repair marketplace by ensuring that quality, non-branded parts commonly damaged in a collision— including fenders, headlights, hoods and tail lights – are available to consumers. The legislation preserves the choice for consumers between original equipment manufactured parts and high-quality alternative parts when repairing their vehicle after a collision.
