The Next Big Workout Trend: Immersive Fitness

As a 4th degree black belt and fitness lover I am always extra excited when the next big fitness trend involves martial arts. So when I heard about the hookup between Les Mills and Reebok I was intrigued.

In September 2013 Reebok and world-renowned group fitness programmer, LES MILLS announced their shared vision to reinvent studio fitness and make it cool again.

ICYDK, Reebok is widely recognized as ‘the' studio fitness brand of the 80s/90s. Reebok's commitment to encourage people to work out together remains part of the brand's DNA.

Founded in 1968 by New Zealand-born Olympian Les Mills, the LES MILLS company has become a dominant force in the global fitness industry. Millions of people unleash their potential at LES MILLS™ classes around the world each week. LES MILLS™ has introduced scientifically backed and proven classes to the fitness world such as the world's most popular barbell class BODYPUMP, BODYCOMBAT and more recently, the LES MILLS GRIT Series (high intensity interval training).

Ready for this new work out? Well, its not here in the US yet but Reebok and Les Mills have together created a collection of co-branded apparel and footwear which is available to buy worldwide.

Reebok and Les Mills will also be offering consumers and instructors the opportunity to try new and exciting programming at co-branded Reebok / LES MILLS events such as quarterly events, as wells bringing innovation projects, like The Project: Immersive Fitness, to fitness folks around the world.

Currently, there are plans for a US tour in 2015 that would feature pop-up, purpose built studios to allow consumers to try the experience. The dates and cities of the tour are TBD, but you can visit: http://www.lesmills.com/immersivefitness for updates and be sure to follow along on http://instagram.com/thepr0ject too!

The next level of fitness is here. IMMERSIVE FITNESS™ surrounds participants with cinema quality video content projected onto screens of a purpose-built studio.  Exercise moves synchronize perfectly with music and graphics, creating a truly immersive fitness experience. Learn more
