Red Carpet How To Hair: Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron, the beautiful star of “Snow White and the Huntsman” and “Prometheus,” ignited the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards last night as she wore a vibrant crimson Lanvin dress, Jimmy Choo sandals, and jewelry from Cartier.

Yet, it was her easy and simple hair that caught my eye so I asked master stylist, Enzo Angileri, how he created the luminous, flowing, and very sexy style.

“At times, a simple look is so powerful,” said Angileri, ”but when you go simple you need to have hair that looks gorgeous – luxurious, silky, and shiny.  When you do an updo or more complicated look you can often get away with hiding the quality of the hair.  In a looser style like this one, the texture, shine and health of each strand becomes all important since you see everything in the lights.  To make sure her hair looked lustrous and moved naturally, I used Moroccanoil Treatment Light, Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream, and Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong.”

How to create the look:

“Moroccanoil Light was the essential foundation, since Charlize’s hair needed to have its own natural flow and move freely.

I first applied Moroccanoil Light, and added a small amount of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream (since we started with Charlize’s naturally waved hair). I used this cocktail to instantly enhance the quality of Charlize’s hair and to give it an incredible luster.

Next I blow dried the hair smooth with two round brushes, a medium one close to the roots for more grip and a larger one on the ends.

When hair was almost dry, using the medium sized brush, I sprayed the sections close to the head with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong to lift them a bit and to hold the style from underneath to make it look even more natural.”

Where to buy: Moroccanoil is sold exclusively in salons. www.moroccanoil.com.

Silver Start to Summer with Coors Light

From May 26th - May 27th, 10am-8pm, in NYC (at Flatiron District on  23rd, Broadway & 5th) you can check out the Coors Light three-dimensional street art “splash down.” The 15’ by 30’ illusion of a Silver Bullet Pint cracking through the pavement and landing into a  large abyss below serves as a perfect photo opportunity for people to capture images of others on the edge of the sidewalk that appears to drop into the ice waters creating an enormous splash. Special-Edition Packaging, Silver Bullet Aluminum Pint and 3D Art Events.

The Coors Light Silver Bullet Summer starts with the release of sleek, new special-edition Silver Bullet Summer packaging. Hitting shelves now, certain packs of Coors Light 12-ounce bottles
and cans feature a distinctive, all-silver design with the exception of the iconic Cold Activated
blue mountains. The Silver Bullet Pint’s wide mouth and re-sealable cap provides cold beer on the go
and a full 16-ounces of “refreshment as cold as the Rockies.”
The brand is supporting these packaging innovations with an integrated marketing campaign
boasting several new general market and multicultural television spots, radio advertising, out-
of-home advertising, digital marketing, point-of-sale displays and high-profile public relations
events in several markets.
The local market events will take place in high-traffic locations showcasing an oversized Silver
Bullet Pint literally “splashing down” in the form of large three-dimensional artwork. This
optical illusion comes to life when consumers take pictures and video posing with the pint,
giving them the opportunity to share the experience with their friends via social media.

In addition to ads featuring the new special-edition Silver Bullet summer packaging and

mogul Ice Cube again does battle with the Coors Light Silver Bullet Pint in two new TV ads,
titled “Bodyguard” and “Studio.” Ice Cube also is lending his expertise as a celebrity judge
in the second annual Coors Light Search for The Coldest program, a national talent search for
the “Coldest” MC in the country.

Curl Fix: How to Ponytail for Curls

Always a constant in a woman’s hair repertoire, it now seems the ponytail is more of a hot trend than staple look.  Curl driven, soft and wavy ponytails were spotted on a plethora of runways at New York Fashion Week over the last few days.  From the looped and tucked tails at Carolina Herrera to the embellished ponytail twists at Derek Lam, locks in favor of ponytails were clearly polished, playful, setting the stage for hair trends in 2012.  Morgan Willhite, Creative Director atOuidad offers her expertise to replicate these runway inspired ponytails for curly girls nationwide.

“The best part about ponytails is that they are low maintenance yet they look high fashion.  Although they are a great option for most hair types, they are especially attractive on curly hair,” says Willhite.  Ponytails can be fun or sophisticated and the only requirement is that your hair is at least medium length.  “All you need is a touch of the Ouidad Clear Control pomade, a few sprays of the new Frizz and Fly Away Fighter and a hair elastic to make this trend work for you,” says Willhite.

Morgan’s Tail Tips
  • Brush your hair with a comb or the Ouidad Double Detangler ($24 at Ouidad.com) and apply the OuidadClimate Control Gel ($22 at Ouidad.com) throughout the hair to reduce frizz
  • Put an elastic band around your right wrist and hold your hair in your left hand; with your right hand brush the hair back smoothly; curly hair tends to be dry, so spray a bit of water to keep it damp as you work
  • Open the hand holding the hair as you brush the hair through; smooth out the front adding Ouidad Climate Control Gel to control curls
  • Use your left hand to slide the elastic off your right wrist and onto the base of the ponytail
  • Let some curls escape the ponytail for a romantic look
  • Try a loose ponytail if you have thick curly hair
  • Apply the new Ouidad Frizz and Flyaway Fighter ($22 at Ouidad.com) to the finished look to help reduce frizz and keep the flyaways tamed
