Breaking News: Fire at Macys Herald Square in NY
Just a short while ago Macy's flagship store in Herald Square was evacuated. The entire store is being evacuated and crowds of shoppers and store staff have poured into the streets. The FDNY secured the main entrance on 34th street between 7th avenue and Broadway.
UPDATE: Wednesday afternoon Macy’s Herald Square was evacuated after a fire erupted in the basement.FDNY officials said there are no reports of injuries.
It started in the cellar and spread to a contained area on the first floor, according to an FDNY official at the scene.The NYPD says the call for the fire came in at about 3:30 p.m., and the main fire had been knocked down by 4 p.m.
