St. Patricks Day: Guinness Recipes

As the global hub of all St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the Guinness Storehouse is opening its doors to offer revelers an exciting line-up of Irish-infused entertainment and festivities throughout the seven-storey building. The Guinness Storehouse will have a mix of local Irish talent and entertainment, including traditional Irish dancing and well known local bands.  DJs will add festive Irish music to the party atmosphere while stout pint sippers enjoy panoramic 360 degree views in the Guinness Storehouse Gravity Bar, the highest viewpoint throughout Dublin. As usual, all Guinness Storehouse visitors receive a complimentary pint of Guinness throughout the festival.

I am in Dublin to check it out for myself and will have more to follow up on once the revelry starts.

For those who cant make it out to Dublin or just have that DIY spirit check out these recipes from the Guinness Storehouse and infuse your pint into one of my favorite recipes...I will reveal a new one every day leading up to St. Patty's Day!

Celebrate St. Patricks Day in Song with Tim O'Brien

Take a journey to Ireland and back as Kevin Burke and friends embark on their third annual Saint Patrick's Day Celebration.  This year's special guest is Grammy Award winner Tim O'Brien, one of Nashville's hottest songwriters and multi-instrumentalists.  With the success of previous years’ events the celebration has expanded to three cities, and will take place in Portland on Friday, March 16th at the Alladin Theatre; in Salem on Saturday, March 17th at the Elsinore Theater; and Sunday, March 18th in Forest Grove.

It promises to be a hugely entertaining evening with all of the musicians trading tunes, tall tales, and talents in a celebration of Irish musical traditions.

Irish fiddle great Kevin Burke and The Trail Band's Cal Scott will once again be hosting the evening of traditional music, song, stories and dance.  The brilliant piper Tom Creegan, from Dublin, Ireland, was such a big hit last year he's returning for this year's show. Three of Portland’s finest classical musicians - Justin Kagan, Anna Schaum and Andrew Ehrlich - will join again for a performance of “The Irish Session Suite,"Kevin and Cal's acclaimed arrangements for chamber quartet.  The exciting footwork of Stacey Brown and her group of Irish dancers is also on tap.

London Fashion Week: Paul Smith

THE LOOK
“We wanted to create a unique shape that was more masculine from the front, yet essentially feminine in profile,” explained Peter Gray. “Tight sides worked to emphasize the over-lapping softness. From the front, the style looked tailored and narrow while from the profile, it flowed into a dramatic, low-rounded convex shape that came together in a low ponytail that was sensuously positioned away from the neck so the hair would flow over the high collars.

“I love the low, rounded volume of these looks. It was important that the lift wasn’t high up on the crown in a sixties kind of way, but much lower and more modern. I structured a backcombed base under the surface to give the hair solidity within a soft fluffy surface.  We created a soft, free look -- almost next-day hair -- that appeared very sexy and natural.

THE INSPIRATION:
For Fall / Winter 2012, we were inspired by the strong yet graceful individuality of a woman’s profile. The androgynous yet feminine feel of the collection was accented by soft, natural looking styles and the smooth, healthy texture of the hair.

Lil Kim on MTV News 'RapFix Live'

Lil Kim made a splash on "RapFix Live" back in March 2011 and the Queen Bee will make her grand return to the red couch with MTV News' Sway Calloway during this Wednesday's episode. Kim will be joined by Bad Boy/MMG rapper French Montana, who recently landed on XXL's Freshman Class list. http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/746271/rapfix-live-welcomes-back-lil-kim.jhtml

Lil' Kim has been making headlines for years, with everything from her platinum plaques to her prison sentence keeping her as a topic of conversation throughout her whole career. Last year, she released her Black Friday mixtape, taking aim at Nicki Minaj, who she believed had been taking subliminal shots at her.

The beef wasn't the only topic during Kim's memorable "RapFix" interview: She also talked about her admiration for Lady Gaga, her relationship with Oprah Winfrey and the influence the late Notorious B.I.G. had on her art and life.

On Valentine's Day, she released a new single, "If You Love Me," on iTunes. On the uptempo track, Kim sings, "If you love me, you would say it in front of the world" on the song's hook while she raps about her dream relationship.

Catch Lil' Kim on "RapFix Live" Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. Send your questions for the artists @MTVRapFix!

Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Bam Margera and many more to Host MTV's "Punk'd"

I just saw the new trailer for the returning hit series “Punk’d.” In it Taylor Swift is horrified by when she thinks that she ruined a wedding in progress. Little did she know, her good friend Justin Bieber was pulling a prank on her all along.

This season, Ashton Kutcher is passing the torch to a different celebrity host each week, including Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Kellan Lutz, Hayden Panettiere, Bam Margera and “Punk’d” alum Dax Shepard, among many others, who will punk their unsuspecting famous friends, who will include Khloe Kardashian Odom, “Teen Wolf’s” Tyler Posey, Demi Lovato, and many more.
The celebrity hosts will take “Punk’d” to a whole new level, with more complex, hilarious and fun punks than ever before. For the first time in the series’ history, the curtain will be pulled back, giving viewers an inside look at what goes on behind-the-scenes to pull off these elaborate pranks.  Get ready for some real outrageously fun moments that you wouldn’t expect from your favorite stars! Check out its explosive return on Thursday, March 29, when an all-new season of “Punk’d,” at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
“Punk’d” is executive produced by Katalyst’s Jason Goldberg and Ashton Kutcher.  Lauren Dolgen, Colin Nash, Kristina Edwards and Jennifer Russakoff are the Executives in Charge of Production for MTV.

How to Wear Green for St. Patricks Day

In addition to being a perennial favorite for spring and a St. Patricks Day essential, green was big on the runways for spring 2012.

Red haired gals already know the impact of those gorgeous kelly green and emerald colors. (Gingers already know the power of green). Green is such a hot color this season and with St. Patricks day right around the corner we thought of some easy ways to add a slice of key lime pieces to your wardrobe.

Here are some of my pics from www.lulus.com so you can incorporate a pop of freshness into your wardrobe and avoid looking like a green screen.

Beauty's Muse: Natasha Poly

L’Oréal Paris has announced model Natasha Poly as the brand's latest spokesperson. By joining L'Oréal Paris, Natasha becomes part of a remarkable roster of spokespeople which includes elite super models such as Doutzen Kroes, Claudia Schiffer and Liya Kebede, as well as international stars like Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé Knowles and Jennifer Lopez.

Since winning a modeling competition in Moscow at the age of 15, Natasha (now 25) has taken the fashion world by storm. Beginning with her Emmanuel Ungaro catwalk debut in 2004, she has appeared in shows for more than 54 fashion houses, including leading international brands Jean Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel and Valentino. She has been a Calvin Klein icon, a Victoria’s Secret angel, and in 2009, was named one of the top models “of the moment” by US Vogue.

“It’s not a coincidence that I’ve taken on this role with L’Oréal Paris. Before becoming a model, I dreamed of being a professional makeup artist! I’ve always loved cosmetics and I always need to have my L’Oréal Paris products backstage at fashion shows. Colour Riche Lipcolour and Elnett Satin Hairspray are iconic products for me, and I’m so excited to be representing them,” explains Natasha Poly.
