Red Carpet Worthy Hair: Amy Adams at the Golden Globes
Golden Globes nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Feature Film, Amy Adams, looked radiant as she wore a gorgeous strapless Marchesa gown with her fabulous red hair worn in a flowing, back-braided updo created by celebrity stylist Laini Reeves.
Laini Reeves explains how the look was styled:
I wanted to create a soft 20’s mood, but in a different, modern way. We started by changing the texture of her hair before we went on to loosely braid and roll the chignon.
Amy has a beautiful, full and thick head of hair and a nice, natural wave. We started by washing her hair with Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo which infuses the hair with argan oil, keratins, fatty acids, and proteins. Combined with Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Conditioner, it immediately controlled the hair and left it smoother, frizz free and easy to manage and style.
I then applied Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream, $31.80, while it was drying, from root to end to give soft hold while further smoothing the texture and adding definition and shine. I rough-dried the hair with my hands to get the water out and created a bit of a messed up texture with a slight touch of wave for a more modern, freer look. The hair was air dried except at the roots, where I used a blow dryer.
Next, I used a 1” curling iron to make curls in different parts of the hair that needed to be filled in and then smoothed and blended them in. I made a side part and prepared some pieces from the front of the hair to frame her face, pinning them in an “S”-shape and away from the rest of the hair.
I gathered and pulled back the rest of hair, made a loose braid that I doubled up, rolled upwards and pinned at the nape, with the cross texture side of the braid showing. Only five thick bobby pins were used to secure the style in place.
Finally, I released the “S”-shaped sections in the front and pinned them behind the ear to open her face up and to show off her cheek bones. I then sprayed the look with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, $21.00, to keep everything in place with movable shine, without looking like it was sprayed.

Spring 2011 Trend: Pantsy Lady
For Spring 2011 The Limited brings out classics & staples with little twists.
One of my favorite trends that will get mileage between right now, spring and even early fall of 2011. The skinny cargo, I love it in an olive drab color, dressed up with a trench and pumps worn to work.
Cropped & dropped-waisted are two twists that The Limited puts on khakis making them playful!
A fuller pant makes a comeback in the form of a trouser, not so menswear inspired but more 70’s chic think Bianca Jagger or Anjelica Huston looking leggy in breezy yet structured pants.

The Good Shoe Project: Payless & World Vision - Free shoes for children in El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala
Payless is making it easier and affordable to give to children in need with the launch of The Good Shoe Project. Whenever a customer purchases the exclusive Airwalk Hopeshoe for $19.99 at Payless or www.payless.com between Dec. 15, 2010, through Feb. 14, 2011, the retailer commits to giving a free pair of kids' shoes to a child in need in Central America through a new alliance with humanitarian organization World Vision.
Through this two-month sales event held at Payless.com and all Payless stores in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, the retailer said it will donate, at minimum, 100,000 pairs of free children’s shoes to be distributed next year to children in need in El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala. The retailer said it expects shopper interest in this shoe-giving program to be strong and that it expects to donate more than the minimum pairs.
Payless is dedicated to democratizing the latest fashion, design and ideas in footwear and accessories for all to enjoy – and that means democratizing giving programs too. The Good Shoe Project was developed as a result of consumers' desire to be more involved in the process of giving to children in need. It is a strong complement to the Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kidsgiving program that was first launched in 2008 and has resulted in Payless giving 3.4 million in free shoes to kids during the holidays.

Kim Kardashian on Bigger Lips: 'I Have the Flu'
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian talked to "Extra" about a recent rumor that she had lip enhancement. Yup, we went straight to the mouth that roared.
"That's not true. Trust me, I've tried Botox on the show," Kardashian confessed to "Extra" at the E! Television Critics Assn junket. "I'm the first one to talk about anything that I do. It really pisses me off that all of these plastic surgery rumors are always linked to me."
Kim continued, "I have the flu. I'm puffy and swollen, and I have no make-up on. Why would I just do my bottom lip? My top lip was smaller and my bottom lip was huge and I'm thinking that would be the worst doctor on earth to do one lip and not the other. It's definitely something that I would never do. I think my lips are big enough to my taste level."

Best Tressed List of 2010 + What’s Hot for 2011
What hair styles will dominate 2011? Will Kim Kardashian leave those horrendous cornrows in her hair? Surely that look will not make a Top 10 List. Roy Teeluck wanted to share his Best Tressed List of 2010 as we embark onto the Year of the Rabbit, Jessica that is, here are his favorite looks of the last year.
PIXIE STICKS
Even though we spent the past few months whipping our hair back and forth, Emma Watson, Carey Mulligan, and The Biebs chopped it all off making 2010 the unofficial year of the pixie. Roy says, "A pixie is a great way to show off your face and is very low maintenance style-wise."
SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING BOB
A bob is a fantastic way to take your hair from drab to fab. By creating a blunt layer (or indie layers in ScarJo's case), you showcase those cheekbones and instantly create a timeless look. Roy (who personally styles Hillary Clinton and Olivia Palermo) says that leaving the sides a little longer makes for a modern version that softens the hard edge of a classic bob.
THE TAMING OF THE DO
For long haired glamour girls, 2010 was all about change. Taylor Swift broke up with her signature curls and started rocking blunt bangs and a pin-straight look. Model Lily Aldridge got on the Balayage bandwagon and warmed up her brown hair with some golden highlights. Emma Stone ditched her red hair and officially became a California blonde.

Ask A Doctor: How to Avoid Injury Falling on the Ice
As this record storm pummels the northeast, EverSoPopular got some good tips on how to navigate in this weather from an MD. Dr. Ronald Grelsamer, a leading surgeon and an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York's Mount Sinai Hospital, as a hip and knee specialist, Dr. Grelsamer is familiar with injuries associated with winter weather and shared his expert advice on how to prevent them.
Here is some useful advice from Dr. Grelsamer about how to avoid injury during the winter season on slippery sidewalks and roads.
1. Move your feet ever so slightly apart as you walk. This will give you better balance. If the street is really slippery, bend your knees a little bit. You may feel that you look funny, but it’s worth it.
2. When going down an incline, consider turning sideways. Do NOT cross one foot over the other, as you will have no balance while your feet are crossed. If the ground is steep, bend your knees (this is where those annoying ski lessons can pay off).
3. Protect your dominant arm. That would be the right if you are a righty, the left one if you are a lefty. Since a fall occurs very quickly, you have no time to plan for that. One recommendation is to hold your coat with your dominant hand, which instinctively leaves the other one to break your fall. If you are carrying something, do so with the dominant hand. Again, instinctively you will then use the weaker hand to brace yourself, should you fall.
