October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Raising Awareness for Domestic Violence One Pair of Shoes at a Time

Makeup Artist Karan Mitchell for Nyx Cosmetics created her makeup, the directions are below!
For Eyes
Karan started with Nyx Concealor Jar in Fair as a base on the lid and then added a shade of ‘Highlight’ and blended from the crease up to the brow. She then applied the highly pigmented sapphire blue shade from Nyx Cosmetics Eye Shadow Trio in Aquamarine on the lids as well as slightly above the crease. Karan then blended the deep blue in the I Dream of Antigua Nyx Cosmetics 5 Color Eye Shadow Palette on the outside corners of her lids. Over that Karan lined the entire eye with Magic Kohl eye liner pencil by Givenchy. Two coats of Nyx Professional Mascara in Black finished the look.
For the Lips
The lip look was finished with Nyx Cosmetics Lipstick shade #174 nude, and Nyx Mega Shine Lipgloss in #104 Sweet Heart for that soft fresh nude lip look!
For Face
Karan created a fresh faced healthy glow for Selena by using Nyx Cosmetics Tango with Bronzer Stix #2 in Merengue Flush. This was applied to the apples of her cheeks.

Road Trip: Norte A Sur

NORTE CAST CollageYoung American Latinos today are known for being explorers, creators, challengers, tearers-down and builders-up. Like every generation of American youth, they are questioning the “what is” and looking for the “what should be”. For them being a pioneer is a mixture of their culture, style and music. They are influenced by the world’s cultural landscape and authentic distinctions of their own. The question is: Where we can find these modern day Latino pioneers?

This fall, Levi’s invites you to ‘Go Forth’ through the lens of the Norte A Sur, Una Rut a... 5 Experiencias show where viewers will get a chance to join five modern day pioneers traveling along the Pan-American Highway to discover more about themselves and their roots. The journey will be broadcasted on Discovery en Español from September 25 through November 27, 2010. Throughout the journey these modern day pioneers will make local stops to engage with the Real Work of communities and explore different cultures through the fields of art, music, design and fashion.

The new Nike+ GPS App allows runners to use their iPhone to visually map every run while tracking pace, distance, time and calories-burned as well as stay motivated with instant feedback during and after each run from athletes like Paula Radcliffe and Lance Armstrong, and comedian Tracy Morgan!

The Nike+ GPS app for iPhone allows runners to:
Run Anywhere: From indoor to outdoor, track to treadmill, this new app combines the power of GPS technology with an accelerometer to map and track a run from anywhere. Map Your Runs: GPS technology allows runners to keep track all of their routes including a breakdown of pace and distance at different points during a run. Runners can even tap the screen during a run to see their current location.

Backstage Beauty: Z Spoke by Zac Posen

It’s LeAura here! And I’m rounding up runway looks for Spring 2011.

Z Spoke Zac Posen RunwayBackstage at Z Spoke by Zac Posen, a team of 18 hair stylists transformed the runway models into “modern-day Marie Antoinettes ready to hit the streets of NYC,” said got2b celeb stylist Larry Sims.

The show featured three distinct hairstyles (created with lead direction by Odile Gilbert) with one common theme: CURLS, CURLS and more CURLS!

Not only were the looks modern, chic and downright cool, but they are so easy to create at home. All you need is a ¼ inch curling iron, got2b hairspray and these DYI tips from Larry Sims.

Whether you want to rock the Deconstructed Bun, Playful Pony, or French Twist, start with these curling instructions, then follow the specific steps for the hairstyle you want to achieve.

Curling Instructions
Using a ¼ inch curling iron, stylists curled the model’s entire head, being sure to curl the sections in opposite directions.  Sims says that this curling technique “allows ringlets to look and feel more organic.” Stylists sprayed the curled strands with got2b 2sexy hairspray for hold and shine.

Deconstructed Bun
Sims explains that this look is meant to look a bit messy. After curling the hair, he recommends brushing the hair out “almost until it’s frizzy,” then pulling in into a bun on the very top of the head, leaving a few loose tendrils along the hairline. Be sure to set the style with got2b 2sexy hairspray.

Playful Pony
These bouncy up-dos complemented the flirty mini dresses in the Spring 2011 collection. After the whole head is curled, Sims says to brush the hair back into a pony, smoothing strands with got2b’s cashmere-infused smooth operator hairspray. Just like the deconstructed bun, a few loose tundrils should be left around the hairline. If you want to give your pony a little extra bounce, Sims recommends spraying the curled pony with got2b’s collagen-infused fat-tastic root-boosting spray.

French Twist (with a twist!)                  

We’ve never seen French Twists like this before! This hot rocker-chic look featured a French roll in the back, accented with a curly quaff on the forehead. Sims suggests you “curl the front of your hair into small sections and then pull the rest back, twist and secure with a few pins so it still looks undone.” The front curls should be held in place with got2b 2sexy hairspray, while the twist should be held with got2b smooth operator hairspray to achieve the soft, polished look.

For Port’s third collection she offered up chic & easy ensembles with pops of prints and color for the fresh-faced set. The beauty looks highlighted glowy skin with an ethereal and non-traditional pastel smoky eye created an edgy yet feminine look. Even the periwinkle nail color was personally selected by Whitney for the show and complimented the colorful collection and makeup look. Toes were painted with a light stone grey shade that was both fresh and neutral.

I asked Creighton how to get the look:
“We decided a soft, and effortlessly natural look was the way to go with her dress which was sexy and short, and I wanted to play up the beauty of her long, luxurious hair,” said Creighton.
“The styling became all about products that would keep the hair looking fresh all evening long. I started by applying Lisa Chiccine Thickening Volume Foam, an alcohol-free styling mousse loaded with botanical extracts and certified organic ingredients, then towel-dried the hair from root to ends. I used it for this look because it’s really lightweight and gives a nice boost of natural-looking lift and volume.
Next, I did a loose, natural-looking blow dry and sprayed a light mist of Lisa Chiccine Hold Weightless Satin Hairspray all over her hair. I used Hold because it’s fast drying, flexible and gives an anti-static hold. It’s great for long hair that needs to move. Finally, I sectioned the hair and made random waves with a medium curling iron. To finish, I used a drop of Lisa Chiccine Shine, a great anti-frizz serum by Lisa Chiccine that doesn’t weight hair down. It also has sun filters to help prevent sun damage.

Levi’s & Opening Ceremony Fall 2010 Collaboration

This fall, Levi’s® has collaborated with 5 brands to create a series of special edition Levi’s® Work Wear Trucker Jackets, all hand-crafted in the USA. Whether they integrate a signature work wear technology like Filson’s oiled tin cloth, or pay tribute to the distinct aesthetic of a group of American workers, each jacket explores the endless potential of Levi’s® iconic garment through the lens of the respective partnering brand.

Thus far this season, Levi's has unveiled truckers from this series, designed in partnership with Filson and Billy Reid.

The latest, arriving in-stores now, is the launch of a new work wear-inspired trucker jacket designed in collaboration with downtown New York’s leading fashion boutique Opening Ceremony. The Trucker features a patchwork of rigid denims as well as a traditional work wear fabric: the railroad stripe. The inclusion of sherpa into the jacket makes it perfect for cold weather and serves as a nod to the ranchers that popularized the Trucker jacket throughout the last century. Siriano's line includes a signature Asian fabric print based on digital photographs showing different vantage points of Chinese and Buddhist temples combined with varying perspectives of Indian beading.

The shoes utilize the fabric too and uniquely meld the cultural combination into four key styles hitting the runway today, each with style names inspired by international cities in each region: Shanghi with its heavy Chinese influence; Mumbai inspired by Buddhist temple architecture; Nairobi heavily influenced by the neckpieces worn by the women of the Padaung tribe of Southeast Asia; and Zanzi, a bootie that features strong African influences.
